The Dr checked her, said it was a simple cold, nothing serious. And then I coughed. He looked at me and said: "mom, YOU'RE the one who's really sick!". So it all ended with him prescribing something for me and something else for Pumpkin in case she got worse. I went to Walgreen's to get my prescription filled and had to wait 45 minutes just to hand it in. It was my first time using my new insurance plan with them and for some reason the insurance company had my date of birth wrong.
I went home, got a call from the pharmacy saying they would not be able to bill the company because of my date of birth. That I needed to call them and get it fixed. Long story short I spent an hour on the phone in which I had several 3-way conversations. First between the pharmacy and the insurance company, then between the insurance company and their pharmacy department, and finally a BIG conference call between the insurance company, their pharmacy department AND Walgreen's! Who knew they took patient information so seriously.
I started to cook, drank wine, wiped Pumpkins nose a couple hundred times, drank more wine and did some housework. I was really exhausted and a bit happy thanks to the wine. Hey, between the pharmacy crap and how the economy is stressing me out, I needed some wine! After I put Pumpkin to bed I went and laid down and read a bit. My head was just thinking to much and it took a while to sleep. But nothing that a cup of Joe can't help.
Now the confession part. I was playing with Pumpkin and all of a sudden I realized: what the hell? I didn't take a shower yesterday! Isn't that normal behavior for the first 5 months of motherhood? Really? I guess the pediatrician and pharmacy afternoon took a toll on me. Or could it be the wine? I swear, I didn't drink the whole bottle. I shared. I shared a glass with my husband.
Oh, I forgot. And guess what? When DH went to pick up the prescription, they still had to call again because the date of birth did not match.
