I was in a funky mood this week. Partly stress, partly weather. I was dragging my feet, not really wanting to do anything. Then yesterday I decided to clean the counters, and use some smell good cleaner. Then washed the dishes, swept a bit and had the kitchen sparkly. And it made me smile. I'm like that. Cleaning is like therapy. When I need to feel in control of something, I clean. I went around, picked up clothes, toys. Took a shower. THEN I started to work. And I felt great.
The moral of the story is: either I no longer needed to be sad, or, my guess is that we should consider taking care of ourselves first, and then the others. And by we, I mean me. Just like they say on that video in airplanes: first put your oxygen mask, then help your fellow passenger.
I didn't use a mask, but next time I should. Not only would I feel better, I'll have smoother skin!
