Bribing with makeup

Pumpkin is a girly girl. Everything pink, dresses, heels, makeup, sunglasses, you name it. I bought her some lip gloss and eye shadows but kept it stored. I figured I would find an ocassion to give her one of them. Well, today was one of those days. My dearest husband returns tonight from a business trip and the house was not at its best. It usually is when he's gone (sorry sweetie). I guess it's easier for me to clean up after 2 than 3. Well, if you read the last post you'll know that I let the weather rule my days most of the time. I know, that's not good. I tried but didn't force myself. So here I am today, trying to clean up and make me feel better.

This little one had toys everywhere! Kitchen, living room, her room, dining room. She cannot understand the concept of only one, or maybe 2 toys at a time. And that's how it happened. I had the brilliant idea of showing her a new eye shadow and telling her that if she put all her toys away I will give it to her. Her beautiful eyes lit up and that girl started running like crazy. She would give Speedy Gonzalez a run for his money. So yeah, bribing is not the way to get them to help all the time. But the point is now, I know... I know it works, and I have several new items to give away.

Well... you could use this as a teaching experience. Remind her of how fast she went after knowing she was going to be receiving eye shadow and let her know that's her "eyeshadow" speed and slowly work with her to pick up at "eyeshadow speed". It sounds corny, but it's teaching a concept that's hard for kids to learn. Hmmm...I think I need to do a little bit of that myself.

Anyway, sorry! Cute story and it seems like it worked out perfectly. Thanks for sharing with BPOTW!
