We don't have screens in all our windows or doors, and sometimes I find that a pigeon has visited us. Why? Because they're bored I guess. They sometimes crap and leave. Other times they stay a while and hang out. That is, until they find out there is a human in the house. Basically the pigeon is the "Goldy Locks" in the 3 bears story. And funny enough, us 3 can sometimes behave like bears.
So, the poor creatures cannot remember they way they entered the house... a window? the front door? the kitchen? And they frantically run towards the closest window or glass door and try to escape. Only to find out that is is closed, and they are trapped. You'd figure they will look for another place to escape, and they will, eventually. But they have to try several times.
"Hum, maybe if I keep pounding my body against the door it will open? OK, only one more time. Freakin' door! I am crapping myself here, open uuuuppp!!"
So I let them be, and hide from them until eventually they find their way out. And other times, I snap a picture of them taking a break while plotting their escape.
