Just last week I was talking with my in-laws that JA rarely goes out by himself with Pumpkin. I was mentioning that sometimes I feel tempted to buy her most things she wants. Like, it's just a candy, or, this is so cute! But I guess he doesn't experience that temptation with her.
Yesterday JA was going to our apartment, which we just rented, to get some stuff out and he said he'd take Pumpkin. I was like, hell yeah! He said it might take him longer since Pumpkin was going with him, so they'd be back in an hour. About 40 minutes later he calls me and tells me to get his keys and meet him at the apartment. "What happened?", "I locked myself inside the apartment and Pumpkin is outside. I can't open the door". There I go, looking like a crazy woman. No makeup, hair a mess. But hey, I was cleaning the house and got a distress call. In the end, I turned around since he got the door opened... and the drama continues.
Turns out the they were heading out and the door got kinda stuck so he locked himself thinking the problem might be in the inside only to find out that the door REALLY got stuck and he could not open it. He was talking to Pumpkin trough the door, she was asking him to open up but remained calm. This is when he called me. All his tools were outside and he found a knife and tried some McGyver crap and ended up breaking the lock. Now he needed a new lock, but at least he was free. And that concludes adventure #1.
He gathers the crap, the microwave that weights a ton and head to the elevator. Apparently Pumpkin got in and the door closed and she started screaming and headed to another floor. JA started running like a crazy man, running down the stairs to meet her in the first floor. Only to find out that the elevator stopped at another floor. Eventually the lady got her to the first floor and she was hysterically crying but reunited with Dad. She told him she got very scared, and that concluded adventure #2.
Everything is in the car now, they head to the drive-thru and buy some lunch, chicken nuggets for her. Went to the store to get a new lock, she finished her nuggets and happily starts dipping her finger in the sauce and starts eating it. Dad thinks it might be a good idea to go the car to get some more nuggets since he still needed to evaluate WHICH lock he was going to buy, and that's when Pumpkin spills the sauce on her pants. That is adventure #3.
I am not sure how excited JA will feel about going out with Pumpkin by himself again, but I hope that does not discourage him. After all I am with her everyday and we get to experience all kinds of crap together. Although nothing has been as adventurous as this Saturday with Daddy.
