We're back from a Bridal Fest we did this weekend and it is very fun but very tiring. This is an opportunity for clients, suppliers and competition to meet. And there's the occasional gossip, which can be fun as long as it isn't about us. Here's a little bit about what happened.
* Someone thought we were another company. My partner was like: no, we're not X, we're Y. But honestly, it was such a huge compliment. We used to joke that we wanted to be like them when we grew up. What else can we ask for?
* Someone said the decor was awesome... for Valentine's Day... with a lover! (Can you say too much information?)
* One of our peers said she wanted us to do her wedding when she renews vows. OK, so she might be lying but it was sweet.
* We saw someone commenting/criticizing our decor, in front of us. We think they were peers. Personally I find it distasteful. You don't have to like what your competition does, and that's fine. Go discuss it somewhere else. If I needed the help of another peer you have just closed the possibility of a business partnership.
* I met a girl who wants her wedding to be so unique that she is asking for triangle shape tables for her guests, and not even a single rose.
* Letting people take pictures of your booth is a delicate subject. After all it is my work. So we figured we would let people take pictures as long as the filled out our quote form. This couple comes along to take pictures, 6 inches away from the centerpiece. We asked them when is the wedding, if they have the flowers. Her answer: yeah, "we have everything. I am just getting ideas". Thanks for being so upfront about stealing my work!
There you go. As you can see it was very entertaining. Welcome to the world of brides and weddings!
